Punk meets flower power

Paris, March, 2011
Yohji Yamamoto: "I felt, in this moment, we need flower power. But at the same time, we need young people's anger."

Yamamoto carried forward his punk sensibility. But now it was punk with a little light flavour. It started with candy hair, like Marie Antoinette as a punker. There was a dress with photo-printed black netting with images of flowers cut out of wire gauze. The feeling of the collection was one of Yohji's loves: historical fashion. There was a turn of mood with crinolines. They were sort of twisted up, like they were blowing in the wind. E.g.: A black lace one, worn with a bat sleeve velvet jacket.
For all its magnificent inspiring sentiment, it felt like Yamamoto was in a more optimistic mood since seasons. His shine on his face tells us there are gonna be some of these more!

In the furure i want to be Lady Gaga!

                                                                Paris, January 2011
At the front row at the Armani PrivĂ© show were three generations of  superstars! The three actresses Sophia Loren, Jodie Foster and Olivia Wilde.
Jodie Foster about Giorgio Armani: 'He has the ability to capture who I am, be the best I can be."
But now, Giorgio - now 76 - no longer cares about what people think of him. He stopped pleasing people except himself. This collection startles old admirers and will get that long-overdure reevaluation.
What was the inspiration for this collection?
The inspiration comes from the brightness of gems. The clothes could be from another planet - the same were Pierre Cardin and Thierry Mugler were. (Is Gaga a good suggestion?)
The first outfit (picture) shimmered around the model like liquid mercury. The metallic plate (made by Philip Treacy) gave us some signals from above. This first piece showed the tone of the collection - sci-fi extravaganza!
The clothes never stopped shining. By technology of fabric, this mirror effect gave organza a reflective quality - WOW! The sci-fi was emphasized by silhouettes that articulated the body. E.g.: Armani sliced the dress off at the hips, left a few inches, and continued in a fall down to the floor. Another example: A one-shouldered blue robe was cut out at the side to show some sheath of blue sequins.
Great show, some excellent fabric technique. But, sorry for the man, I wouldn't wear everything. Maybe one of those fantastic plates... Thank you Giorgio for this fabulous collection!

Chanel

A while ago I saw the Chanel logo-Tee for the 100 time on a fashion site. I figured that it would be easy to make one myself, considering I have left over a plain-white Tee (H&M) that would be a perfect base.
It's not very easy though, but I'm prosessing!
It worked, after all! And my self-made shirt is born!
Happy!

New In Town!

Hello, I'm new in town - is the title of the fabulous Little Boots' song.
Lately I've been interested in fashion, home styling, design, magazines, dreams and making pictures.
For now it's just this, but not for long!

See you!
